Our Purpose
The Glen Eira Community Action Group (GECAG) is a group of residents concerned with overdevelopment and densification of the Glen Eira community. We heavily oppose inappropriate developments, and are deeply concerned with the proposed Train and Tram Zone Activity Centres Program. We have no political affiliation.
Train and Tram Zone Activity Centres Program
The Department of Transport and Planning is proposing the Train and Tram Zone Activity Centres Program. This proposal permits up to 6-storey buildings in residential streets and up to 20-storey buildings adjacent to train stations.
The council will be stripped of their autonomy, with these high-rise buildings permitted construction as-of-right. This proposal strips you the individual of the right to object to such developments (even through VCAT) and denies you any compensation.
